The Two Sisters
On July 16, 2022 I found myself traveling in North Carolina when I happened upon this old barn and a cemetery.
It was the barn that caught my attention at first. I assumed it was a barn, but it had some features that weren’t very “barn like.”
As I went around the barn I saw this little cemetery slightly behind the building, in a field still being farmed.
Here you can see two open graves. To give you some perspective on the size, they weren't very wide and not as long as I am tall (5'4"). About the size of my daughter Gabby's golden retriever.
Notice the slab covering to your left. I'm thinking the original graves were covered and dug with these arrangements to keep the caskets from "floating" up if they got a lot of rain soaking the ground.
But that is only a guess on my part.
